No matter what items you are looking for you will find an abundance of retail outlets, malls, shopping centres and traditional souks offering high quality goods at rock bottom prices. Haggling is the norm in the markets, and it is even worth a try in the shops and malls to get the best prices.

The Souks

Top of the list of traditional souks must be the covered souk in the Deira region of old Dubai. You will find a maze of narrow alleys where it is possible to purchase all manner of goods, however it is most famous for the spices, and the smell of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and incense fill the streets. Bargaining is a must to negotiate the best prices.
Al Faheidi Road, along the side of Dubai Creek is the place for textiles, where you will find materials from all over the world, and the best place to purchase silk and lace goods.

Dubai shopping Malls

Wherever you are in Dubai, you will never be far from several shopping malls, each with their own particular style. The mall of the Emirates, is more of a shopping resort than a shopping mall, such is the size and variety on offer. At 223,000 Sq M this is one of the largest malls in the world, and combines a 14-screen Cineplex, indoor ski resort, 500-seat theatre, an art gallery, in addition to the many restaurants and the largest indoor family entertainment centre. It is easy to forget that it houses all the major retail outlets too!
